Custom Metal Fabrication Services of Aluminum Abalone Irons
As a custom manufacturer, Technical Fabrication is equipped to work with a wide variety of metals. The product shown here was designed and developed for use as an abalone iron; it's used to pry the abalone from the rock before it can fully clamp down. We not only fabricated this product but we were also involved in the design and product development phases. Composed of 3/8" aluminum, it featured dimensions of 4" in width, and 14" in length. Fabrication required precision plasma cutting to form the item, the finish features were machined on our mill and lathe. Orders from this customer are produced with lead times of 2 days, and we produce 30 to 50 per year.
